چکیده

Abstract In this paper, two modified, design-based calibration ratio-type estimators are presented. The suggested were developed under stratified random sampling using information on an auxiliary variable in the form of robust statistical measures, including Gini’s mean difference, Downton’s method and probability weighted moments. properties (biases MSEs) proposed studied up to terms first-order approximation by means Taylor’s Series approximation. theoretical results supported a simulation study conducted four bivariate populations generated normal, chi-square, exponential gamma populations. indicate that scheme is more precise than any others considered paper.

A Family of Estimators for Estimating Population Mean in Stratified Sampling under Non-Response

Khoshnevisan et al. (2007) proposed a general family of estimators for population mean using known value of some population parameters in simple random sampling. The objective of this paper is to propose a family of combined-type estimators in stratified random sampling adapting the family of estimators proposed by Khoshnevisan et al. (2007) under non-response. The properties of proposed family...

Separate Ratio-type Estimators of Population Mean in Stratified Random Sampling

Separate ratio-type estimators for population mean with their properties are considered. Some separate ratio-type estimators for population mean using known parameters of auxiliary variate are proposed. The bias and mean squared error of the proposed estimators are obtained up to the first degree of approximation. It is shown that the proposed estimators are more efficient than unbiased estimat...

Calibration approach estimators in stratified sampling

Calibration is commonly used in survey sampling to include auxiliary information to increase the precision of the estimates of population parameter. In this paper, we newly propose various calibration approach ratio estimators and derive the estimator of the variance of the calibration approach ratio estimators in stratified sampling. r 2006 Elsevier B.V. Dual to Ratio cum Product Estimators of Finite Population Mean Using Auxiliary Attribute(s) in Stratified Random Sampling

The problem of estimating the population mean in un-stratified sampling strategies to estimate the finite the presence of an auxiliary variable has been widely discussed in finite population sampling literature [1], suggested a class of estimators of the population mean using one auxiliary variable in the stratified random sampling and examined the MSE of the estimators up to the kth order of a...

Modified Sampling Strategies Using Correlation Coefficient for Estimating Population Mean

This paper proposes two sampling strategies based on the modified ratio estimator using the population mean of auxiliary variable and population correlation coefficient between the study variable and the auxiliary variable by Singh and Tailor (2003) for estimating the population mean (total) of the study variable in a finite population. A comparative study is made with usual sampling strategies...
